Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)

CRO is the practice of improving the percentage of visitors who take a desired action, so you get more results from the traffic you already have.

Conversion Rate Optimization, or CRO, is the work of getting more of your existing visitors to take the action you want, whether that is booking a call, buying, or signing up. Your conversion rate is just the percentage who do.

Why it beats chasing more traffic

If your page converts at 1 percent, doubling it to 2 percent doubles your results without spending a cent more on traffic. That is usually cheaper and faster than buying your way to more visitors, which is why I check conversion before I recommend scaling ad spend.

Where the gains usually hide

  • A clearer value proposition above the fold.
  • Faster pages, since speed and conversion are linked.
  • Simpler forms and a single, obvious call to action.
  • Trust signals: proof, reviews, and clear next steps.

CRO is part of how I approach both web development and SEO, because traffic that does not convert is not worth much.
