Conversion Rate Optimization, or CRO, is the work of getting more of your existing visitors to take the action you want, whether that is booking a call, buying, or signing up. Your conversion rate is just the percentage who do.
Why it beats chasing more traffic
If your page converts at 1 percent, doubling it to 2 percent doubles your results without spending a cent more on traffic. That is usually cheaper and faster than buying your way to more visitors, which is why I check conversion before I recommend scaling ad spend.
Where the gains usually hide
- A clearer value proposition above the fold.
- Faster pages, since speed and conversion are linked.
- Simpler forms and a single, obvious call to action.
- Trust signals: proof, reviews, and clear next steps.
CRO is part of how I approach both web development and SEO, because traffic that does not convert is not worth much.
